Laurel Lodge offer 3 separate departments with individual monitoring system directly connecting to the nurses station Our décor combines elegance and style in designs as well as environmentally meeting the needs of all Laurel Lodge residents. Rooms and corridors have been tastefully decorated with glass used, wherever possible, to maximise natural light. Great emphasis has been put on creating a stimulating and, warm, homely environment for all our residents, whether they require respite, short stay, long stay or convalescing.
Our focus lies in respecting resident’s privacy and dignity whilst striving to preserve their independence. This is achieved with thoughtfully laid out accommodation comprising single and twin rooms with extremely user-friendly ensuite facilities. Assisted bathing facilities are available. Long term residents are very welcome to bring their own furniture and possessions should they so wish. There is a television and telephone point in each room, call bell , and night light . In-house laundry facilities are provided. Name tags are provided for personal clothing
Types of Stay
Laurel Lodge is fully equipped to care for residents seeking long-term nursing care, personal care, convalescence or respite care.
At Laurel Lodge you can choose the care package that most suits your needs:
• Long term care for those who need daily nursing perhaps due to age or an ongoing medical condition; • Respite care to enable carers to take a much deserved break; Week – end package Holiday package Day Care package Mon – Friday
• Convalescent or post-operative care for residents recovering from an illness or operation
Residents may retain their own General Practitioners (G.P) or are free to change to the GP who supports Laurel Lodge or to one of the many local practices. Information can be obtained from Matron.
We want residents to feel very much at home and therefore do our utmost to keep rules and regulations to a minimum. Family and friends are welcome at any time.
Visiting times are not restricted. All we ask is that visitors avoid meal times for the residents benefit. In the interests of fire safety, we ask residents and family members to inform the nurse in charge if they intend going out, giving details of their expected time of departure and return All complaints are dealt with in accordance with our Complaints Procedure, a copy of which can be obtained on request
Prospective residents are very welcome to come and look around the Nursing Home. Should a room not be immediately available your name can be placed on our waiting list without any commitment. We would then contact you when a suitable room became available.
Dining Facilities
Our head chef has devised our menus on a two weekly cycle and has tailored them especially to meet the needs and wishes of our residents. Chef will be happy to discuss any special dietary needs you may have.
Below is a schedule of daily meals and refreshments. If you do not wish to dine at these times, refreshments extra to those listed are always available on request.
Early morning drinks are available if you would request same 09.15 - 10.30am - Breakfast is served 11.00am - Mid-morning refreshments are served. 1.00pm - A three course lunch is served in the dining room. 2.30pm - Mid-afternoon refreshments are served. 4.30pm – High Tea comprising of hot and cold option is served in the dining room. 8.00pm onwards - Supper and a selection of hot drinks is available.
Daily deliveries from top quality local suppliers ensure we serve fresh, homemade meals every day.
